Dear Members of PAECT,

I would like to start by saying, “Thank you for being an important member of this organization!” Next, I am going to reiterate my message from PETE AND C this past February of 2026. PAECT, we are a FAMILY. Yes, I know it is a paraphrase of the 1979 Pittsburgh Pirates slogan and a song from Sister Sledge…LOL. That being said, it is true.

Throughout the entire time I have been involved with PAECT, which covers many years, members have been here for me to guide, mentor, challenge me to leave my comfort zone, and help me become a better educator and human being.

As we always say on the PAECT Pod, PAECT is a network of educators for educators; we are a 100% volunteer organization. That means we are here by our own choice to help others. It is also stated that we believe PAECT’s strength comes from our members. That means YOU!

If you are an active member of PAECT, please continue to do so. If you are not active, please consider becoming active. Join in on PAECT activities, in-person or online, and voice your ideas. Even if you start out as a silent participant, watching but not speaking, that is fine. Everyone needs to start from a level of comfort. Hopefully you will grow from there. We encourage members to “lead from where they are.” Share ideas, voice opinions, assist others, the possibilities are endless.

From my many years of participating, I have learned this valuable lesson:  just because something seems ordinary, commonplace, or trivial to you does not make it the same for others. Share your ideas, share your voice; we grow by expanding our experiences, by expanding our network, by expanding our FAMILY!
