We are excited to share with you an opportunity for deep professional learning and connection this fall. As we all prepare for the extra challenges of teaching this fall, you may be looking for strategies and ideas to help you improve student interest, engagement, and learning. Games and gamification are one way to enhance your classroom, whether it is face to face, blended or virtual.

PAECT is partnering with GamifyED (www.gamifyed.net) for a book study of Reality Is Broken: Why Games Make Us Better and How They Can Change the World by Jane McGonigal. Starting August 13, 2020, the GamifyED team will lead a Twitter chat every Thursday at 7:00 PM Eastern. The author (@avantgame) will be joining the chat for Chapter 1 on August 20! Follow @EDGamify and the #GamifyED hashtag on Twitter to participate. We also have a Slack group for those who want more in-depth discussion and connections through the fall. Join at https://slack.gamifyed.net.

GamifyED is a team of PAECT members who met at the KTI Summit in 2019 and are committed to helping teachers connect, develop, lead, and advocate at the intersection of ed tech and gamification.

If you get your copy of the book through Amazon Smile, a portion of your purchase will support PAECT! Remember to select PAECT as your charity.

For details and a full schedule of topics, visit the GamifyED website at https://www.gamifyed.net/book-club.

PAECT is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization.
