ISTE CERTIFICATION

FOR EDUCATORS

PAECT and its members are driven to provide our students in the commonwealth with learning experiences rooted in solid pedagogy and effective use of educational technology. The ISTE Standards have long been a framework for innovative and transformative practices in the classroom, and PAECT is honored to be an ISTE affiliate as we work to root our efforts as an organization deeply in the ISTE Standards.

In partnership with the Lincoln Intermediate Unit, we are excited to offer Pennsylvania educators and those of neighboring states the opportunity to experience the ISTE Certification for Educators. This professional learning opportunity takes educators through an experience that works to deepen your understanding of the ISTE Standards for Educators and how they apply to effective pedagogy and transformative learning experiences for our students. Through face-to-face training, online modules, and creation of a portfolio, this certification process will challenge you to re-think and re-design learning experiences in your classroom that utilize meaningful technology to improve student outcomes.

Steps to becoming an ISTE Certified Educator

  • Register for a training session (Certification-only or Certification + Graduate Credit)

  • Attend face-to-face workshop (2 days)

  • Complete online course (8-weeks, 30-hours for Certification, 45-hours for Certification + Graduate Credit)

  • Prepare and submit an ePortfolio to ISTE for review (6 months) - the educator will be provided access to a certification portal where participants can get feedback from their cohort while preparing their portfolio of artifacts and reflections.

  • Once submitted, ISTE Certification Evaluators will review the artifacts. Those who successfully meet the certification will become ISTE Certified Educators.
